...is open to all Catholic women, age 16 and over. We are a charitable, non-profit organization named after our Patroness, Queen Isabella of Spain.
The International Circle is the main governing body. Members come together at the biennial convention to elect the International Officers who constitute the Administrative Board.
The State Circle also convenes every two years. Election of State Officers and implemantation of programs are discussed and approved consistent with the laws and rules of the Constitution.
The Local Circles meet monthly for a combined business meeting and social gathering. Members act upon the charitable, spiritual, civic and social programs their circle wishes to take part in or sponsor.
The local Circle was instituted on April 2, 1930. We were named after Father Theophile Remy, S. M. who served as pastor of St. John the Baptist Church from 1911-1922.
Our membership consists of members from St. Charles and St. John's Churches. We work hand in hand with the Catholic Church to uphold its teachings and support the sanctity of life. For eighty years, Father Remy has and continues to have a positive impact on the lives they touch by providing food assistance to the Mid-Coast Hunger prevention program, visiting the sick, volunteering at the local soup kitchen, bringing the Eucharist to nursing homes and hospital patients, to name a few. Our social gatherings provide times of fun and laughter while bringing out the best in everyone.
Spiritually, Father Remy Circle participates in many programs and encourages its members to be the "Light of Faith, Hope and Love" to everyone they meet.
Fundraising is a necessary part of Father Remy's activities. It provides the means to lend support to the many charitable requests the organization receives throughout the year.
Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Brunswick. The rosary is recited at 6:15 pm followed by the business meeting.
